What Are the Benefits of Packaging Finishing?
Every product package and gift box conveys a company’s message. To emphasize quality, many rely on recognition value—and that is precisely what finishing achieves. Benefits: highlights quality, emphasizes value, attracts attention, customers appreciate the effort.

Hot foil stamping
A true classic. The layer is applied to the packaging through pressure and heat. Unlike other techniques, both visual and tactile effects can be achieved—but only when pressure and heat work simultaneously.
A glossy effect is often desired—silver and gold are extremely popular. Requirement: heat resistance of the carrier material.

Blind embossing
The oldest and most traditional finishing technique. Primarily based on pressure. Pressure alone creates three-dimensional deformations that give the packaging a special tactile quality. No colors are used—colorless, yet very elegant.

Screen Printing
In screen printing, ink is applied to a fine-mesh fabric and transferred to the object to be printed. Areas that should not be printed are covered by a stencil. Suitable for square and round objects, wood or cardboard. Subsequent customization of a gift box is also possible.
Wide color spectrum: single-color, 4C, special colors such as gold or Pantone.
Dispersion Coating
The most frequently used method. The dispersion is applied directly to the printing surface after the colors in the offset printing machine. Major advantage: the fast drying process. Printed packaging is better protected against scratches, yellowing, and abrasion.
Film Lamination (Cellophaning)
A thin film is adhered to the packaging. Benefits: better grip and abrasion protection, higher resistance to pressure impacts, better folding strength, and longer lifespan. Available in matte (pleasant tactile feel) or glossy (enhanced color effect).
UV Coating
Various varnishes are cured using UV rays. More complex than dispersion coating, but thicker layers are possible, providing stability. Textures can be incorporated (e.g., leather or citrus fruit tactile feel). UV coating can also be applied selectively.
Scented Varnish
A special form of finishing that appeals to multiple senses. Varnish with microencapsulated oils releases a scent when rubbed (e.g., strawberry, cinnamon, fir, orange). Creates recognition value and emotional connection.
