Data Check
Not sure if your print files are set up correctly? No problem! Our experts will take the time to perform a free basic file check, covering the key points that are important for printing and finishing. After the check, we’ll send you a PDF for print approval or a list of tips for troubleshooting.

Tips & Common Mistakes
Resolution
At least 300 dpi. Lower resolutions may result in a blurry image.
Trim
3 mm bleed on each side. Graphics that extend to the edge must extend beyond the edge to prevent white gaps from appearing during cutting.
File Formats
PDF, TIF, or JPG.
Layers
At best, reduce it to a background layer.
Color Space — CMYK
Create print files directly in CMYK mode. RGB files must be converted, which can lead to color deviations. We recommend ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI). Download Now
Partial Finishing
Create areas for varnish/embossing as spot colors on a new layer and set them to overprint (multiply).
Embedding Fonts
Before exporting, embed or vectorize fonts so that they display correctly on any device.
Special Colors
Create spot colors (e.g., Pantone) as spot colors rather than CMYK.
Font size
Minimum size 6 pt; 8 pt for negative text.
Line thickness
At least 0.25 pt; negative 0.5 pt.
Safety distance
Leave a 3 mm margin and follow the score lines to ensure that text or important elements are not cut off.
